Ford has finally sold its Jaguar and Land Rover subsidiaries to Indian manufacturing giant Tata Motors. The Blue Oval announced the widely anticipated sale to the US stock markets and employees this morning, confirming it was paid $2.3 billion (£1.2bn) for the two premium British marques. It has sold them wholesale, rather than keeping a stake as it did with Aston Martin - ending a decade of American ownership.Ford bought Land Rover from the BMW-Rover break-up in 2000, 11 years after it acquired Jaguar.
Hyundai has confirmed it’s going rallying with an i20 heading for the WRC sporting around 300bhp and 4WD. Hyundai has announced that it is going to compete in the FIA World Rally Championships with a car based on the three-door i20. Hyundai hasn’t been rallying since it withdrew from motorsport in 2003, but the arrival of more convincing models – and growing sporty pretensions in the Hyundai range – make a rally glow a sensible move for the Korean firm.
Jaguar XFR Review - The Conclusion
The fact is that the XFR overshadows the offerings from the German triumvirate – BMW, Audi and Mercedes. It offers performance that is pretty much the equal of them all, but delivers that power in a seamless and effortless manner. Its handling is sublime and its huge reserves of torque flatter the driver.
